lenovo ideapad s10 2 video Lenovo Ideapad S10 2 launchedLenovo’s foray into the netbook market was described as a solid start by reviewers. Keeping upto the reputation it has, Lenovo has just announced the launch of slightly modified Ideapad S10 which I think has addressed most of the major issues which could have made the EeePC or the Aspire One a better choice.

The Ideapad S10 has the same basic specs ( 1.6GHz Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi, 1.3 megapixel camera, etc.) but it now has a 6 cell battery which has enough juice to last 6 hours according to Lenovo. It has a larger keyboard than its earlier version. It has added another USB port to make it three in total which I think is quite okay in a netbook.

The baby will be available from May end or June. It will take some more time to reach the Indian shores. I will wait till then to buy my first netbook.

BenQ has launched a limited period offer on its Netbook models, Joybook Lite U101 and U101C. The offer entitles every customer to a free BenQ external portable DVD writer with every purchase of its Joybook Lite. This surely will further increase the fiercely competitive netbook market. Although, I find the offer attractive as I will still love my CDs and DVDs, I will rather go for a Lenovo, Asus or Acer netbook beacuse of their wide service networks.
